Summary: Represents and sells company products & services to Key Accounts and HSS sales territories, as assigned. Also assists colleagues, when appropriate, on product and selling strategies.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit order and travels throughout territory to call on assigned customers on a regular reach and frequency basis to meet objectives.
  • In conjunction with the Regional Sales Manager and IDN Business Manager will work with others in the region to provide direction and assistance in analyzing their R & C business within key accounts as assigned.
  • Work closely, and share information with Stago functional departments (i.e. Sales Administration, Marketing, and Finance) to ensure their ability to effectively handle the Key Account Manager territory.
  • Achieve sales objectives as assigned by Regional Sales Manager.
  • Understands the importance of reagent “focus” products and communicates this to the customer.
  • Assists with reagent training for HSS and provides assistance to the Regional Sales Manager and Director of Sales on projects, as needed.
  • Displays or demonstrates product features and benefits, using all available and supported Stago tools, and emphasizes sellable features.
  • Continually works to maintain knowledge base for existing and new products.
  • Utilizes all available resources and communication vehicles to develop and maintain customer relationship with key buying influences.
  • Enters all customer account activities and other sales data for current customers into customer relationship management system and keeps up to date.
  • Maintains accurate records and completes administrative and territory reports on time.
  • Quotes prices/terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Attends trade shows/customer event and demos products as directed.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions and manages expenses within company guidelines.

Education & Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or general education degree required; Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred; Medical Technology degree or certification preferred; 3 to 5 years related experience required.
  • Valid Driver's License. Ability to conduct on-site customer demonstrations and visits
  • Must be able to travel up to 60% of the time; including overnight travel. Ability to travel internationally.

Skills:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; Database software. Microsoft Office Suite experience required. In addition the individual should demonstrate advanced proficiency with Excel.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Related scientific/technical knowledge.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate reagent & control requirements for annual usage.
  • Create instrument acquisition options including cash purchase, Reagent Rental and Cost per Reportable.
  • Understanding of profitability calculations with respect to Stago business goals and objectives.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
