||Environmental Health and Safety Specialist
||In this position, you will be principally responsible for facilitating safety efforts at all Multisorb facilities to reduce incident rate and maintain the highest safety environment for our associates. Duties include facilitating and communicating Environmental,
Health and Safety (EH&S) programs and policies. Develops and conducts employee environmental health and safety training. Responds to EH&S emergencies, investigates accidents, and recommends corrective and preventive action.
Specific responsibilities include:
•Conduct training as needed to ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA standards and to improve the focus on safety.
•Maintains all OSHA logs and required record keeping
•Perform safety assessment of new materials and processes prior to use and coordinate completion of identified safety actions.
•Leads investigation of work-related injuries and illnesses in conjunction with shift leaders or group leaders, facilitates actions that prevent re-occurrence and ensures required reports and record keeping are completed.
•Serve as a contact person during Industrial Hygiene sampling events. Prepare and deliver results.
•Communicate metrics on the red board and white board.
•Assist with respiratory protection program.
•Perform EH&S training.
•Maintain all safety policies in compliance with regulations and establish effective safety guidelines
•Lead designated Safety Teams.
•Provide communication on safety through whiteboards, articles, newsletters, signage, etc.
•Participate in new equipment and process to ensure safety assessments are done and safety issues are addressed.
•Maintain existing MSDS system and ensure new materials and products have appropriate MSDS sheets and training.
•Shift contact for all EH&S questions and issues.
•Perform analysis and recommend improvements to equipment and processes to improve safety and prevent accidents.
•Source safety equipment, to include PPE.
•Schedule and coordinate monthly departmental and equipment inspections.
•Conduct new employee EH&S Company overview and new employee safety orientation.
•Serve as a resource and help facilitate Shift Safety Teams’ effectiveness on all shifts.
•Participate in emergency response and first aid system.
•Be a Gensuite Power User and Trainer
This position will primarily work 8am-5pm but will be required to work all three manufacturing shifts occasionally on a rotating basis.
To qualify, you must have a bachelors degree in a health or safety. A minimum of 1-2 years experience facilitating environmental health and safety programs in a manufacturing environment is required. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills;
effective written and oral communication skills; knowledge and skill to understand and apply EH&S regulation; strong MS Office skills; ability to analyze and communicate technical information at technical and layman’s level; strong motivation, coaching and
teaching skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with minimal supervision; effective training skills; and the ability to apply EH&S knowledge to Problem Solving. The candidate must have demonstrated strong leadership and influencing skills; the
ability work well under pressure; be outgoing; be pleasant; very organized; a self-starter; able to make effective decisions; and a team player. Experience with Gensuite software is a plus.
