MannKind Corporation is currently seeking an HR Business Partner in Westlake Village area in CA (currently located in Valencia CA until August 1, 2017). This role will be responsible for both strategic human resources responsibilities and project management responsibilities across a range of exciting projects that cover the employee life cycle. This role will be the lead human resources business partner to our Chief Commercial Officer (who reports to MannKind’s CEO, Michael Castagna) and our commercial organization (both home office and field). S/he will partner with our CCO to ensure we are attracting, developing, engaging and retaining best in class talent while fostering a high performing company culture. This incumbent will also lead HR Analytics and Reporting for the company, ensuring that business leaders have the people metrics they need to best manage their organizations.

  • Serves as the primary human resources business partner to the Chief Commercial Officer and his/her leadership team.
  • Supports ongoing HR functions provided by the team, including: employee relations issues, facilitating the staffing process as well as workforce planning reporting, movement and termination of employees; team development and effectiveness; basic benefit clarification; compensation management; development of staff; talent planning process, training and development and on-boarding.
  • Participates in coordinating and ensuring the accuracy, integrity and fairness of performance evaluation and compensation review processes.
  • Works with hiring managers to achieve appropriate staffing levels. Conducts new hire orientations to ensure comprehensive introduction to and smooth assimilation of new employees into the company.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of training initiatives for staff.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of company policies and procedures and current trends, developments and legislative rulings related to HR and respond to employee inquiries.
  • Functions as a general resource for HR inquiries and participates on task forces involved with projects to enhance employee productivity and morale.
  • Provide guidance to managers on compensation policies, processes and tools; assist in the coordination of annual salary review, annual bonus payout, equity grants.
  • Guide managers through the performance management system by assisting with the roll-out of processes and tools, personal development plans; prepare information for performance assessment training.
  • Employee terminations, such as conducting exit interviews, generating exit paperwork, and analyzing attrition results. Liaise with the financial planning team for reporting purposes.
  • Represent both employee and management interests by partnering with each to address needs, concerns and expectations; resolve issues to maintain and/or improve productivity.
  • Ensures the sound execution of administrative processes.
  • Partner with HR colleagues on cross-functional initiatives to develop and deliver HR programs, projects and initiatives.
  • Responsible for filing First Report of Worker’s Compensation including follow ups with both employees and insurance company.
  • Responsible for observing all Company, Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines.
  • Duties and responsibilities are not limited to the work listed above and may include other assignments as necessary.
Requirements
  • BS/BA degree required in Human Resources of related field, Master’s Degree in HR, Business, Org Psychology, Org Behavior or related degree preferred.
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred.
  • Experience in employee relations.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent judgment and ability to maintain strict confidence.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to work with all levels of management and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
