Title Manager/Sr. Manager - Financial Reporting

MannKind Corporation is currently looking for the Sr. Manager/Manager, Financial Reporting.

The Sr.Manager/Manager Financial Reporting will manage a set of financial reporting of a public company, both internal and external SEC reporting. Primary responsibility will also include technical accounting expertise. Additionally, this position is responsible for the maintenance and continued improvement of the Company’s SOX documentation. This position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with problem-solving expertise, including the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management.

  • Directly responsible for analyzing and internally reporting financial results on a monthly, quarterly and as needed basis
  • Directly responsible for the financial statement section of SEC reports, including quarterly reports on Form 10Q, Form 10K annual reports, Proxy, 8Ks and all other ad hoc registration statements
  • Monitor pending and newly issued pronouncements, rulings and other authoritative documents by SEC, FASB, AICPA etc. and review, research and evaluate application to, and impact on the company. Keep management informed of the current accounting and reporting issues
  • Lead implementation efforts and ongoing monitoring of significant new pronouncements noted above
  • Review schedules for accounting areas pertaining to external reporting (e.g. Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flows, Statement of Stockholders’ Equity)
  • Prepare and/or review schedules and entries related to month-end close
  • Assist in the review of monthly and quarterly company financial analytics
  • Assist in the preparation and review of accounting policies and procedures
  • Lead on-going process improvement projects
  • Prepare tax schedules and coordinate tax work papers for external tax return preparers
  • Assist with special projects as needed
  • Responsible for observing all Company, Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines

Duties and responsibilities are not limited to the work listed above and may include other assignments as necessary.

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance with 8+ years of experience with 5 years in the pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry preferred
  • 3-4 years of Big 4 firm experience
  • CPA certification is preferred
  • Previous experience with SEC filings and SOX
