Position Summary:

MannKind Corporation is currently seeking a Manager, Sales Operations in our Westlake Village, CA corporate office. The incumbent will be responsible for business analytics and reporting to the sales organization by analyzing data, trends and providing actionable insights to the commercial leadership team. This role will report directly to the Associate Director, Commercial Operations.

 

Principal responsibilities:

  • Work to continually assess the effectiveness of the sales force and proposes creative solutions to address complex business challenges.
  • Conduct data analysis and develop reporting tools to identify business trends and report performance results across product line(s), payer groups, territories, etc.
  • Review department metrics with leadership team to help ensure consistent performance, high level of productivity, and achievement of business goals for the Sales Organization.
  • Identify and track data necessary to develop and refine business forecasting and product utilization models and as well as to develop predictive sales and productivity analytics.
  • Design, produce and maintain various reports and data base systems for department management as requested including leader boards for the display of departmental results within Sales.
  • Collaborate with IT to automate reporting tools and tracking of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Work cross functionally with Sales Training, Finance, Marketing, Managed Care, Hub, and Clinical to guide strategy and ensure alignment.
  • Simultaneously manage multiple project/work assignments and analytical duties. Use departmental metrics to identify trends and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Learn and develop proficiency with Veeva CRM, Symphony, Salesforce and/or other programs used by the Sales group.
  • Develop partnerships with various vendors and participate in tool enhancements or re-design as necessary.
  • Duties and responsibilities are not limited to the work listed above and may include other assignments as necessary
  • Responsible for observing all Company, Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines.
  • Contribute to the design, development, modeling, and implementation of incentive compensation plans to drive corporate goals.
Requirements

Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • BS/BA Degree plus 8 years of experience or MS Degree plus 6 years of experience
  • Prior pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry preferred
  • Experience in a business analytics role, preferably in sales operations and/or sales finance
  • Significant experience utilizing multiple analytical tools, e.g. Excel, Access
  • Ability to work in a team orientated environment
  • Travel 10-20%
