Position Summary:

Operate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair refrigeration, pneumatic and electromechanical systems used in the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products. Locate and diagnose failures, replace defective components, and troubleshoot using standard electronic equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, and verbal and/or written instructions and facilitate the change. Maintain appropriate maintenance and repair logs. May redesign, vacuum, electrical, electronic, or mechanical systems for incorporation on existing manufacturing equipment. Execute preventative maintenance work orders. May estimate labor and equipment costs and prepare requisitions as required. Work in multiple room environments including GMP clean rooms.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for repair and maintenance of production equipment including systems that utilize cascade refrigeration to manufacture product
  • Responsible for compliance to all refrigeration regulations including the inventory of all refrigerant use and the repair of leaks in equipment or systems 
  • Responsible for maintaining up to date records related to the maintenance (scheduled or not) of manufacturing related systems and components
  • Inspection of equipment operations on a daily basis 
  • Installs new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines 
  • Responsible for observing all Company, Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines

Duties and responsibilities are not limited to the work listed above and may include other assignments as necessary


Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • Vocational or Trade School Certification 
  • Willing to obtain a Refrigeration trade license 
  • Working knowledge of cGMP procedures preferred 
  • 6+ years’ experience in a maintenance position with responsibility for operating and maintaining refrigeration equipment 
  • PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) familiarity preferred 
  • Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
  • Computer Literate
  • Willing to be on an emergency standby schedule to handle emergency calls
  • Willingness to learn and be trained
