Position Summary:

MannKind is currently seeking a Payroll and Stock Administration Specialist who will report into the Manager, Financial Reporting. This position will ensure accurate processing and recording of the company's multi-state U.S. payroll and provide timely and accurate payroll including assist stock administration activities. This position will be based in our corporate headquarters in Westlake Village, CA.

Principal responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform daily payroll department operations
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
  • Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits
  • Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance
  • Perform compliances for unclaimed payroll checks
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, 1099 etc)
  • Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
  • Process manual check and relocation metric's
  • Research and Respond to employee disputes and questions
  • Accurately process company Benefits includes stock compensation.
Requirements

Education and Experience Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of directly related experience processing multi-state payroll
  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations
  • Strong PC skills including proficiency in Excel
  • Strong work ethic and team player
  • High degree of professionalism
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
  • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of management
  • Decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
