MannKind Corporation has an opening for Sr. Manager, Patient Access & Reimbursement located in Westlake Village, CA. This position will be responsible for partnering with the VP of Market Access & Trade to develop the overarching Reimbursement strategy for MannKind while leading, directing and implementing reimbursement support, HUB, co-pay and patient assistance programs. Will ensure optimal product reimbursement at patient level, patient assistance program, co-pay support program and other patient support program(s) and responsibilities as needed. Strong vendor management and internal collaboration with all commercial functions to ensure timely dissemination of relevant information about HUB and pharmacy initiatives; co-pay, reimbursement support and patient assistance programs. Reports to Director of Trade & Reimbursement.

  • Lead the strategic development and implementation for MannKind Patient Access & Reimbursement efforts.
  • Closely work in a collaborative environment across internal groups which include Sales & Marketing, Market Access, Marketing, Compliance, Regulatory, Trade, Accounting, Finance and Supply Chain/Manufacturing. 
  • Identify opportunities to enhance sales of products, support marketing initiatives, and overall reimbursement support for MannKind products.
  • Develop optimized reimbursement & patient support strategies, approaches and technologies that will be operationalized by external partners (i.e., HUB, co-pay, etc.) to facilitate the achievement of our objectives to support sales and customer experience in a compliant fashion.
  • Track record of successful vendor management, service level agreements, business reviews, RFP process, contract negotiation & measurement of program effectiveness resulting in improved program adherence.
  • Develop promotional initiatives for market access and trade customers including support of field pull through.
  • Develop strong compliant collaboration with sales leadership to develop and lead execution of reimbursement initiatives.
  • Provide internal consulting regarding reimbursement opportunities/issues, patient experience and adherence.
  • Effectively utilize and analyze multiple quantitative data sources in order to create strategic initiatives.
  • Seek business development opportunities within client accounts for MannKind products as needed.
  • Complete required training within designated timeline.
  • Represent MannKind in a professional manner at key industry conferences.
  • Operate in full compliance of company policies and corporate governance. 
  • Responsible for observing all Company, Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines.

Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree in a business or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years’ of biotech/pharmaceutical US corporate commercial experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in reimbursement strategy, HUB management, co-pay or related discipline 
  • Brand or payer marketing and field sales experience preferred 
  • Firm understanding of the regulations governing commercial and government reimbursement
  • Ability to negotiate and manage vendor relationships, RFP’s and service level agreements 
  • Proven track record for securing and improving product reimbursement
  • Skilled in identifying healthcare business trends 
  • Action oriented, with a sense of urgency and professionalism 
  • Proven abilities to drive and produce results
  • Strong planning, organizational and prioritizing skills and be able to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously in a fast paced environment
  • Strong problem solving skills and business acumen 
  • Strong collaborator – respectful and accountable 
  • Experience in launching products and executing launch strategies and tactical plans
  • Strong financial background including budget responsibilities
  • Strong analytical skills necessary
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills 
  • Up to 50% travel required; must have a valid driver’s license
