Title Food Service Manager - Seasonal

Description Summary:
Oversees all stand/department operations to include: scheduling, training of new and existing staff, cleaning and sanitation schedules, adherence to stand/department policies and procedures, payroll timesheet compliance, adherence to child labor laws, job assignments, handles cash, and address and resolve customer issues. Must work with Director to hire staff and handle employee issues.

Essential Functions:
• Oversees Team Members and Team Leaders and the operations for entire department.
• Complete employee schedules for the department/stand according to child labor laws.
o Post schedules in advance per department guidelines.
• Complete employee disciplinary actions when warranted according to company and department policies and procedures.
o Hiring and firing can only be done in conjunction with the Department Director and HR.
o Disciplinary actions must be signed by the Stand/Department Manager, Department Director, the employee, and the Senior Director of HR.
o Copies of disciplinary actions are kept on file in HR, department manager’s files, and a copy is provided to the employee.
• Train Team Members and Team Leaders on proper department policies and procedures.
o Keep training record sign-in sheets on file in department and provide a copy to HR.
• Ensure compliance of company and department policies and procedures.
o Ensure all child labor laws are enforced with scheduling, break schedules, and duties allowable by age.
o Train and re-train employees on company and department policies and procedures when necessary.
o Document issues with compliance and maintain record of issues.
• Maintain accurate attendance, discipline, and schedule records within the department.
o Keep files on each employee to record items listed above.
• If applicable, review and monitor electronic timesheets for payroll and approve with Dept. Director by 11 am on Mondays.
o Make notes in the electronic timesheets of any time discrepancies or changes to the timesheet.
• Establish job assignments for all employees and monitor for follow through.
• Establish cleaning regimens for department and monitor for follow through.
• Set up stand/department for daily operations to begin according to department/stand procedure, if Team Leaders not available.
• Ensure compliance of company and department cash handling policies and procedures.
o Handle cash if applicable.
o Verify and secure cash register drawers.
o Approve and review voids and refunds.
• Communicate product issues or equipment problems to Assistant Director or Director.
• Report any major issues/problems to department Assistant Director or Director.
• Provide Team Leaders with the guidance and training to maintain operations in your absence.
• Address and handle customer issues and complaints when necessary.
• Handles resignations and/or terminations with department Director or Assistant Directors.
• Access and maintain department files on computer regarding scheduling, sign-in sheets, etc.
• Practice and assure that food service team members follow food safety guidelines to:
o Assure safe and quality food service.
o Monitor and record food holding and storage temperatures.
o Monitor and record equipment temperatures.
• Complete inventories and orders according to department policies and procedures.
• Attend department meetings.
• Must work in various weather and environmental conditions including but not limited to direct or indirect sunlight, heat, humidity, rain, hail, cold.
Other Responsibilities:
• Maintain and protect employee, customer, and consumer confidentiality.
• Report to and from work at assigned time.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
• Must be honest and reliable.
• Must be able to work in a team atmosphere and provide help and support to co-workers on an ongoing basis.
• Adhere to dress code policy.
Requirements Educations & Qualifications:
Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of 18 years of age to comply with Child Labor Laws. Ability to perform basic math and count cash. A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience within the department is strongly preferred. Management and/or leadership experience is preferred. Must be organized, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and have the ability to follow and enforce policies and procedures. Must be committed to providing excellent customer service.
