Sr. Project Manager, Capital Projects, with experience in managing infrastructure, maintenance, reliability, and capital projects in a Refinery or Chemical Plant setting.

Drives a portfolio of multiple projects in various stages, from development to execution.

Manages cost, scope, schedule, and internal reporting requirements. Responsibility, accountability and authority to manage the execution of the engineering design, procurement, construction and turnover to operations of capital projects in accordance with applicable specifications and standards in order to achieve project objectives.

Manage a project portfolio of approximately 5-10 projects annually with average project value of 1.5MM.
• Assures project objectives are met (including cost, schedule, and scope) by managing the development, design and execution of assigned projects in accordance with specifications, standards, and applicable codes/regulations.
• Proactively manages project risks (analysis and risk register)
• Ensures accurate schedule and cost reporting of assigned projects, including budgeting, estimating, and forecasting.
• Manage and track performance of engineering team
• Facilitates safety and constructability reviews
• Develop bid Packages
• Review/evaluate bids, and make recommendations to client for award.
• Manage and track performance of field construction
• Responsible for strong change management control. Responsible for negotiating with internal and external partners on all changes to the job in accordance with procedures.
• Communicates and resolves technical and commercial issues as related to project objectives.
• Responsible for initiating the Management of Change, and coordinating with the site process safety manager.
• Successfully communicates with internal and external partners, including maintenance, operations, inspectors, engineers, designers, document control, procurement, construction, project controls, leadership, and all other departments
• Ensures all project closeout is complete.
• Self-starter, knows how to effectively manage multiple projects and competing priorities
• Understands and adheres to all policies, procedures, and guidelines pertaining to safety, health, environmental and quality assurance emphasizing this perspective in their own work and in the work of others
• Uses fact based, structured decision making process to initiate and support appropriate actions

• Well rounded PM who possesses a strength on utility projects (also Turbines/Pumps), with I/E knowledge.
• Minimum of Bachelor Degree. P.E. license preferred. PMP Certification preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of Project Management experience with 8 years of experience as a licensed Professional Engineer (or a minimum of 25 years of project related experience if not a licensed Project Engineer or Design Engineer)
• 10+ years of experience in project management in either the Refining and/or Chemical industry
• Knowledgeable and experienced in the use of CPM scheduling and project controls and possesses a high degree of expertise in project management.
