Summary:
Working closely with ACS leadership and the project Principal Investigator (PI), the primary purpose of this position will be to manage the ACS of the Improving Surgical Care and Recovery (ISCR) Program, an initiative supported by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. This position will provide comprehensive administrative management of the project, develop policies and procedures, and plan and direct all day-to-day ACS project operations.
This position is grant funded through approximately September, 2021. This position will include all benefits available to existing regular full time employees of the American College of Surgeons.

This Exempt level position will report to the Administrative Director, CQI in the Division of Research & Optimal Patient Care.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work closely with ACS leadership, the project team, and external partners to oversee the development of the ISCR program.

• Serve as primary contact for programmatic questions/issues, providing high-level customer service in these areas.

• Develop and manage processes and procedures to effectively coordinate the creation, implementation, and measurement of success for the project. This includes managing the project timeline, tracking project deliverables, and reports.

• Responsible for the communication of project-related information within teams and oversight of the development of promotional and informational materials.

• Oversee planning and direction of all ACS day-to-day project operations and contribute to the oversight of all project operations.

• Work closely with all project groups to create open lines communication and team cohesion.

• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required.

• Minimum of 4+ years’ professional work experience in a similar role required.

• Excellent project management skills and time-management capabilities.

• Must be a self-starter who sets goals and achieves them with minimal oversight.

• Ability to deal with multiple constituencies in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills necessary to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and online conferencing software (e.g. Adobe Connect).

• Ability to oversee staff and work output in a team environment and willing to contribute wherever needed to ensure team success.

• Extremely organized, self-motivated and able to work independently and as a member of a team.

• Ability to plan and prioritize workload and meet deadlines.

• Ability to establish strong working relationships with all division teams and management.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Required to assign work and to complete formal annual performance evaluation of others.

Physical/Work Environment: Fast paced with significant people interaction. No lifting over 20 pounds, minimal reaching bending and stooping. Normal office environment with long hours in front of the computer.

Other Necessary Requirements: Occasional evening or weekend duties may be required. Minimal travel for activities such as out of town meetings is required.
