a.i. solutions is seeking a driven individual with quality and mission assurance experience who is resilient in nature when working towards completion of their tasks. This role will support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Quality, Safety and Mission Assurance (QS) Directorate as the liaison to agency headquarters staff, providing the interface between the customer and the agency’s senior leaders and staff.  This individual will need to understand the importance of providing timely support to all tasks and will be a motivated in taking initiative to identify and solve problems.  The successful candidate will act as an integral part of the team to ensure the goal of delivering quality products and services that meet and exceed customer expectations.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Apply technical expertise in quality and mission assurance to effectively implement policies and best practices at all lifecycle phases including requirements, design, development, and testing efforts
  • Assist with the implementation and support of quality and mission assurance programs including developing and updating of key program documentation
  • Perform documentation and standards review, synthesizing the results of reports to provide management and customer with deeper insight into potential quality assurance issues
  • Support the development and flowdown of new and updated quality requirements into program, project, supplier, and sub-tier supplier documents
  • Attend briefings and management reviews, collect, organize, and analyze data; summarize findings and develop conclusions and recommendations
  • Provide hardware and software quality assurance expertise for the Ballistic Missile Defense Systems (BMDS)
  • Support the requirements identification and development processes, the risk assessment/acceptance process and the monitoring and reporting of the status of contractor facility audits
  • Support documentation reviews, the adjudication of review comments and facilitate the coordination of quality and mission assurance related policy and informational reports sent to the agency headquarters for approval
  • Support implementation of National and International standards (e.g., Software Engineering Institute (SEI), Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI))
  • Travel periodical, less than 10%  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or a related technical discipline
  • 15+ years of experience in a DoD program/development environment or Master's degree
  • Experience applying mechanical, electrical and chemical engineering concepts in the context of quality and mission assurance provisions for high-reliability military/aerospace programs
  • Experience in DoD program acquisition practices and total lifecycle product development
  • Experience with the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Quality Policies; National and International standards (e.g., Software Engineering Institute (SEI), Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)); MDA Assurance Provisions (MAP); MDA Test Event processes, AS9100
  • Experience with development, testing evaluation and production issues in the design, analysis, production, testing, maintenance, and fielding of ballistic missile hardware
  • Experience in Supply Chain Management at the supplier and sub-tier levels for the development of DoD systems
  • Currently possess an active DOD secret clearance
