a.i. solutions is seeking a highly-motivated Satellite Subsystems Engineer with a passion for aerospace and working with experimental satellite systems. The Satellite Subsystems Engineer will support Concept Exploration, Mission Readiness and Satellite Operations for a unique, one-of-a-kind satellite systems.  The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to embrace the a.i. solutions mission and work to continually exceed the expectations of our customers. 

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support as a subject matter expert on an on-orbit satellite program, requiring subsystem knowledge on multiple satellite subsystems (Attitude Control, Power, Thermal, TT&C, Payload)
  • Monitor the performance of, and maintain the health and welfare of satellite subsystems
  • Conduct trending and subsystem analysis
  • Support the development and integration of the associated ground system components
  • Provide anomaly resolution support during satellite faults and ground system failures
  • Work as part of a satellite operations/engineering team to perform and evaluate satellite bus and payload activities
  • Support flexible hours including potential night and weekend work, on an on-call basis

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or similar engineering field
  • 10+ years of experience in satellite operations or engineering
  • Experience in TT&C of Air Force, other military, NASA or commercial satellites
  • Experience resolving satellite and ground station anomalies
  • Currently possess an active Top-Secret clearance 

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) or subsystems specialist on military or other government agency satellites
  • Experience supporting development of satellite ground systems
  • Satellite trending and analysis
  • System testing and test management
  • Ability to script in PERL, C# or other scripting languages and C, C++ or related programming experience
  • Ability to quickly connect in-person and in writing, and to actively listen and perceive the needs, values, or opinions of others
  • Demonstrated leadership accomplishments professionally and personally and the desire to contribute to team leadership by reviewing program documents, team output, and customer requirements
  • Proactivity in identifying and addressing challenges to include innovations that result in positive organizational impact
