a.i. solutions is seeking an experienced, focused individual to support our growing list of commercial flight dynamics customers. The successful candidate must demonstrate a knowledge and passion for orbital mechanics and have passion for flying spacecraft. He or she will balance spacecraft flight dynamics analyses and real-time mission support while also interfacing with the customer and maintaining the team’s progress along its schedule. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a firm understanding of the physics and math of spaceflight, computer savvy, a talent for leadership and the ability to see system-wide connections. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to embrace the a.i. solutions mission and work to continually exceed the expectations of our customers.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide flight dynamics support for multiple spacecraft, including trajectory analysis, maneuver planning and performance analysis, orbit determination.
  • Perform routine and real-time mission support, including flight product generation and distribution
  • Consider and evaluate multiple approaches to solving complex trajectory-related problems, and perform trade-off analyses of feasible options
  • Support automation of Flight Dynamics processes
  • Support system readiness, planning, preparation, execution, and evaluation for all phases of spacecraft lifetime; from launch to mission to de-orbit
  • Apply an understanding of scientific and numerical computation
  • Write complex specifications, interface control documents, and engineering reports
  • Present analysis results to mission support teams, customers, and other entities
  • Contribute to business objectives, including growth with existing and development of potential customers

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline
  • 3+ years of experience with space flight operations
  • Experience with various flight dynamics software (e.g., FreeFlyer, STK, GMAT)
  • Experience with astrodynamics, orbit estimation, spacecraft navigation, maneuver planning, and/or on-orbit satellite mission support 
  • U.S. citizenship

Desired Skills:

  • Satellite operations experience
  • Experience with technical writing
  • Familiarity with C++, Java, or Python
  • Ability to quickly connect in-person and in writing, and to actively listen and perceive the needs, values or opinions of others
  • Demonstrated leadership accomplishments professionally and personally
  • Proactivity in identifying and addressing challenges to include innovations that result in positive organizational impact
