a.i. solutions, Inc. is looking for a highly-motivated software engineer/developer with a passion for space. This person will be a hands-on contributor to our software development team supporting the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), NASA’s premier space science mission. The successful candidate will act as an integral part of the team to ensure the goal of delivering quality products and services that meet and exceed customer expectations.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develop Java applications using the NetBeans IDE that will help fly the JWST spacecraft
  • Develop graphical user interfaces (GUIs) and visualizations using JavaFX
  • Develop software that interacts with databases and other commercial flight dynamics software
  • Contribute throughout the software development life cycle including: requirements definition, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance
  • Interact with an inter-disciplinary team of aerospace engineers, software developers, systems engineers, and systems administrators
  • Communicate technical details clearly and concisely
  • Investigate and identify new development techniques
  • Create and update software documentation

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering
  • 1+ years of experience in software design, development, and testing
  • Experience with Java development
  • Experience with GUI development
  • Experience using software repositories and ticketing systems
  • U.S. citizenship
