a.i. solutions is seeking a driven individual who will support Missile Defense Agency (MDA) mission and quality assurance by participating in multi-disciplinary teams conducting quality and mission assurance evaluations and assessments. The position involves analysis of electrical and electronic components and assemblies for existing missile defense components and architectures. The individual will understand the importance of providing timely support to all tasks and will be proactive in identifying and solving problems. The successful candidate will act as an integral part of the team to ensure the goal of delivering quality products and services that meet and exceed customer expectations.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct mission assurance corrosion assessments in compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) and MDA policies. Prepare a Corrosion Checklist during the process
  • Conduct preliminary inspection of Ballistic Missile Defense System equipment to identify potential corrosion areas of concern that require preventive maintenance, scheduled maintenance, corrective, or condition based maintenance
  • Maintain and update photo database after assessments to document equipment condition over time
  • Maintain and update online corrosion database
  • Maintain and update system logistics manuals to address areas of concern identified in corrosion assessments and inspections.
  • Identify and prepare list of areas of concern for equipment maintenance
  • Prepare procedures to conduct preventive, scheduled, and corrective maintenance
  • Identify equipment and material required to perform maintenance procedures
  • Provide management updates through trip reports and weekly status reports
  • Travel periodically, 25%, to include outside the continental U.S.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, material science or related discipline
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with corrosion control in a field environment
  • Experience with identifying/assessing/evaluating corrosion causes and implementation of corrective actions
  • Experience with corrosion prevention methodologies and surface finishes and treatments
  • Experience with logistics manuals containing corrosion maintenance procedures
  • Experience conducting technical assessments including field audits and document results in reports to provide management and customer with deeper insight into corrosion issues
  • Experience with the Corrosion Prevention and Control Plans, MIL-HDBK-729, MIL-HDBK-735, MIL-STD-171E, MIL-STD-186E, and SAE-AMS-STD-753
  • Current possess an active DoD secret security clearance
