a.i solutions is seeking a driven individual who will support Missile Defense Agency mission and quality assurance by participating in multi-disciplinary teams, conducting quality and mission assurance evaluations and assessments for existing missile defense components and architectures. This person will provide technical expertise in Quality and Mission Assurance Management, by performing oversight of all lifecycle phases including requirements, design, development, testing and programmatic efforts.  They will also be responsible for responding to requirements, design, development, testing and programmatic concerns and supporting design and failure review boards/ investigations, milestone reviews and aiding in the implementation of the quality assurance program. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to embrace the a.i. solutions mission and work to continually exceed the expectations of our customers. 

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide electrical engineering, quality, and mission assurance experience within the Ballistic Missile Defense Systems (BMDS); specifically with Aegis BMD and Standard Missile
  • Assist with implementation and support of collaborative Supplier Quality Management methodologies, including development and updating of key program plans, policies, best practices, and strategies for effective supply chain management 
  • Address and tailor specific MDA quality assurance contract requirements for suppliers; and review contractor deliverables and adjudicate comments with the suppliers
  • Verify quality requirements flow-down and implementation 
  • Work with suppliers to identify, evaluate, and implement quality and reliability improvement opportunities through changes to designs, operating procedures, maintenance procedures, and equipment upgrades
  • Assist in development of Service Life Extension and Stockpile Reliability Programs for Standard Missiles
  • Support Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and failure investigations/root cause analysis using conceptual design and data collection and analysis to perform engineering calculations that support mathematical models
  • Assist with requirements definition and execution of Standard Missile Built-in-Test qualification, testing, certification, and deployment
  • Contribute to engineering teams to develop and validate performance of electrical components and missile systems
  • Review nonconformance reports for effective root cause and corrective action; and report quality impacts and trends to Program Office leadership 
  • Evaluate Quality Management Systems for robustness, compliance to requirements, and recommending improvements 
  • Assist in the development, implementation and assessment of supplier corrective action requests/systems 
  • Participate in weekly IPTs and various program management reviews 
  • Review, analyze and trend metrics, as applicable 
  • Travel up to 25%

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related technical discipline
  • 15+ years of engineering experience in a DoD related environment 
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance

Desired Background:

  • Master’s degree 
  • Background in MDA, SM-3, Aegis Weapon System, or DoD missile defense systems 
  • Experience in quality or manufacturing
  • Experience in developing solutions to a wide range of complex technical and programmatic problems 
  • Ability to quickly connect in-person and in writing, and to actively listen and perceive the needs, values or opinions of others
  • Demonstrated leadership accomplishments professionally and personally
  • Proactivity in identifying and addressing challenges to include innovations that result in positive organizational impact
