a.i. solutions is seeking a driven individual who will support Missile Defense Agency (MDA) mission and quality assurance by participating in multi-disciplinary teams conducting quality and mission assurance evaluations and assessments. This position involves analysis of electrical and electronic components and assemblies for existing missile defense components and architectures. This individual will understand the importance of providing timely support to all tasks and will be proactive in identifying and solving problems. The successful candidate will act as an integral part of the team to ensure the goal of delivering quality products and services that meet and exceed customer expectations.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering, quality and mission assurance support within the Ballistic Missile Defense Systems (BMDS); specifically within the TCQ Program Office
  • Evaluate and inspect design and manufacturing processes of electronic circuits, components, and integrated systems, completed electrical hardware installations, and observes operations to ensure conformance of design and equipment specifications for complex weapon systems
  • Formulate, evaluate, and apply component failure mechanisms and physics of failure to independently understand and identify electrical/electronic components of complex weapon systems for conformance to established criteria
  • Identify failures, research screenings and qualification test plans, and recommend potential technical solutions of electronic components applications
  • Support Failure Review Boards to ensure failure analysis accounts for part or material defects
  • Conduct vendor assessments of MDA contractors to verify receiving Inspection, ESD, and Manufacturing processes
  • Assist with implementation and support of collaborative Supplier Quality Management methodologies, including development and updating of key program plans, policies, best practices, and strategies for effective supply chain management
  • Review Government requirements documents and supplier hardware technical requirements for assurance compliance and assist with addressing issues
  • Support engineering reviews, technical interchange meetings, monitor configuration management, monitor testing and qualification activities, support Failure Review Boards, support change control boards, and monitor software control
  • Interface with local DCMA, MDA program engineering, MDA quality technical experts, and supplier engineering, manufacturing, quality and senior management
  • Review nonconformance reports for effective root cause and corrective action; and report quality impacts and trends to Program Office leadership
  • Participate in facility walkthroughs and supplier audits at prime and sub-tier supplier locations
  • Assess compliance with requirements in the MAP and industry best practice for mission assurance
  • Periodic travel, approximately once per month

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in MDA or a similar DoD environment
  • Experience evaluating Quality Management Systems for robustness, compliance to requirements, and recommending improvements
  • Current possess an active DOD secret security clearance
