a.i. solutions is seeking a driven individual who will support Missile Defense Agency (MDA) mission and quality assurance by participating in multi-disciplinary teams conducting quality and mission assurance evaluations and assessments. The position involves analysis of electrical and electronic components and assemblies for existing missile defense components and architectures. The individual will understand the importance of providing timely support to all tasks and will be proactive in identifying and solving problems. The successful candidate will act as an integral part of the team to ensure the goal of delivering quality products and services that meet and exceed customer expectations.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Perform obsolescence and parts analysis at the system, subsystem, and component levels to evaluate parts, materials, and chemicals for obsolescence impacts to MDA programs
  • Interface with prime contractors, suppliers, and other Government agencies to explore design and mitigation alternatives that minimize obsolescence impacts to MDA programs
  • Analyze obsolescence identification of parts forecast to become obsolete
  • Perform technical evaluations of contractor obsolescence proposals and proposed obsolescence mitigation solutions
  • Review verification evidence for technical specifications and obsolescence requirements, as well as the engineering adequacy of those requirements
  • Assist with the preparation of briefings, technical risk analyses and assessments, and document the acceptance of risk
  • Review and analyze program operating environments test requirements, specifications, and test methods
  • Prepare reports documenting obsolescence program issues and risks
  • Assess compliance with requirements in the MAP (MDA Assurance Provisions) and industry best practice for mission assurance
  • Travel on occassion, approximately 4-6 times per year, typically 2-5 days in duration

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience conducting technical evaluations of system design and baseline changes to determine risk impact and preparing analyses
  • Experience with collaboration and communication to foster efficient workflow across multiple disciplines and multiple parties including: government customers, technical staff, and other contractors
  • Currently posses an active DoD secret security clearance

  • Background in MDA, GMD, or DoD missile defense systems
  • Experience with foreign military sales programs
  • Experience with Obsolescence
  • Degree in EE and/or Master’s degree
