a.i solutions is seeking a driven individual who will support Missile Defense Agency mission and quality assurance by participating in multi-disciplinary teams conducting quality and mission assurance evaluations and assessments for existing missile defense components and architectures. This position will provide technical expertise in Quality and Mission Assurance Management in performing oversight of all lifecycle phases including requirements, design, development, testing and programmatic efforts.  In addition, this individual will support design and failure review boards/ investigations, milestone reviews and aid in the implementation of the quality assurance program.  The successful candidate will act as an integral part of the team to ensure the goal of delivering quality products and services that meet and exceed customer expectations.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical engineering, quality, and mission assurance experience within the Ballistic Missile Defense Systems (BMDS); specifically within the Aegis Missile Program Office
  • Assist with implementation and support of collaborative Supplier Quality Management methodologies, including development and updating of key program plans, policies, best practices, and strategies for effective supply chain management
  • Address and tailor specific MDA quality assurance contract requirements for suppliers; and review contractor deliverables and adjudicate comments with the suppliers
  • Implement Quality and Mission Assurance (QSMA) inputs from standards, specifications to contractual Requests for Proposals (RFP's), Statement or Work (SOW) changes, Contract Data Requirements List (CDRLs), Technical Instruction (TI) documents and Procure Contracting Office (PCO) Draft Letters
  • Verify quality requirements flow-down and implementation
  • Work with suppliers to identify, evaluate, and implement quality and reliability improvement opportunities through changes to designs, operating procedures, maintenance procedures, and equipment upgrades
  • Review nonconformance reports for effective root cause and corrective action; and report quality impacts and trends to Program Office leadership
  • Communicate/distribute Government Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP) information and analyze applicability to MDA Programs, evaluate Prime Contractor and affected Sub-tier suppliers RCCA and applicability/impact analysis
  • Review Facility Requirements Documents to ensure inclusion of Quality Assurance requirements
  • Assist in the development, implementation and assessment of supplier corrective action requests/systems
  • Manage surveillance efforts of the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and assist in identifying, reviewing, and implementing Mandatory Government Inspections (MGI) and Quality Assurance Letters of Instructions (QALIs)
  • Participate in weekly IPTs and various program management reviews
  • Participate in facility walkthroughs and supplier audits at prime and sub-tier supplier locations
  • Review, analyze and trend metrics, as applicable
  • Travel periodically, less than 20%

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related technical discipline
  • 10+ years of engineering experience in a DoD related environment
  • Experience with Quality/Mission Assurance
  • Experience with Supplier Quality Management in assessing/evaluating mission critical hardware and/or software and investigating root cause of failures and/or nonconformance’s
  • Experience evaluating Quality Management Systems for robustness, compliance to requirements, and recommending improvements
  • Currently possess an active DoD secret security clearance
