a.i. solutions is seeking a driven individual who will support Missile Defense Agency (MDA) mission and quality assurance by participating in multi-disciplinary teams conducting quality and mission assurance evaluations and assessments for existing missile defense components and architectures. This position will provide technical expertise in reliability engineering to Quality and Mission Assurance Management in performing oversight of all lifecycle phases including requirements, design, development, testing and programmatic efforts. The role responds to requirements, design, development, testing and programmatic concerns. In addition, this individual will be supporting design and failure review boards/investigations, milestone reviews and aiding in the implementation of the reliability program.  The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to embrace the a.i. solutions mission of always meeting customer requirements and usually exceeding their expectations.

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering, quality and mission assurance support within the Ballistic Missile Defense Systems (BMDS); specifically within the GMQ Program Office
  • Assist with implementation and support of collaborative Supplier Quality Management methodologies, including development and updating of key program plans, policies, best practices, and strategies for effective supply chain management
  • Review Government requirements documents and supplier hardware technical requirements for assurance compliance and assist with addressing issues
  • Support engineering reviews, technical interchange meetings, monitor configuration management, monitor testing and qualification activities, support Failure Review Boards, support change control boards, and monitor software control
  • Verify quality requirements flow-down and implementation
  • Interface with local DCMA, MDA program engineering, MDA quality technical experts, and supplier engineering, manufacturing, quality and senior management
  • Evaluate nonconformance reports, preventive and corrective maintenance work orders, and systems upgrade work orders, assessing effectiveness and completeness of program planning, effectiveness of root cause and corrective action, adverse trends in contractor performance and/or systems readiness; report quality issues, program impacts and adverse trends to Program Office leadership
  • Demonstrate strong collaboration and communication skills to foster efficient workflow across multiple parties including: government customers, technical staff, and other contractors
  • Participate in scheduled and ad hoc meetings with site team, program integrated product teams (IPTs) and various program management reviews
  • Participate in facility walkthroughs and supplier audits at prime and sub-tier supplier locations
  • Review, analyze and trend metrics, as applicable
  • Coordinate organizational deliverables
  • Travel periodically, approximately once per month

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline
  • 15+ years of engineering experience in MDA or a similar DoD environment
  • Experience in MDA, GMD, or DoD missile defense systems
  • Currently possess a DoD secret security clearance

Desired Background:

  • Master’s degree in a related technical discipline 
  • Knowledge of Supplier Quality Management with experience in assessing/evaluating mission critical hardware and/or software and investigating root cause of failures and/or nonconformances
  • Experience in field maintenance, post-delivery hardware and/or software product support, multi-tiered maintenance of fielded systems and remote site field operations.
  • Experience in developing solutions to a wide range of complex technical and programmatic problem
  • Ability to quickly connect in-person and in writing, and to actively listen and perceive the needs, values or opinions of others
  • Demonstrated leadership accomplishments professionally and personally
  • Proactivity in identifying and addressing challenges to include innovations that result in positive organizational impact
